Gumi is making more moves to bring Japanese mobile gaming to the world.
This time, the mobile publisher is bringing Sega’s strategy role-playing game Chain Chronicle to markets outside of Japan. It comes out in North American for iOS and Android platforms on Dec. 8. A release in Europe follows.
Gumi recently opened branches in the U.S. and Canada. Bringing a Japanese mobile hit like Chain Chronicle to those markets is a logical next step. It already has over four million downloads in Japan. Around the world, Android and iOS games generated more than $16 billion in consumer spending last year.
“After a successful launch in Japan, we have been looking for the right moment to bring the fan loved Chain Chronicles to the western market,” Sega Networks chief executive officer Haruki Satomi said in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “Now is that time, and we have full confidence that Gumi, with their solid track record, is the right partner to help our hit title find success in the west.”
