Malkovich Malkovich, Malkovich. Translation: It’s about time we get to play as actor John Malkovich in a video game.
Activision has released an in-depth look at the Havoc downloadable-content pack for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. This add-on brings new maps, weapons, and mode to the publisher’s futuristic military shooter. That new mode, called Exo Zombies, enables four players to work together to take on waves of the undead as characters played by actors John Malkovich (Con Air), Rose McGowan (Charmed), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), and Bill Paxton (Aliens). The Havoc DLC is due out on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Jan. 27 for $15 — although it comes includes with the $50 Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare season pass. Havoc hits PlayStation consoles and PC next month.
So, yes, it’s game over, man. Game over.
Malkovich and the rest don’t just voice their digital characters. Activision scanned each star into the game, just as it did with Kevin Spacey for the main campaign, so you’ll get to see Paxton’s beautiful mug.
Check it out in the trailer:
In addition to the actors and Exo Zombies, players get new maps for the competitive multiplayer mode.
Urban is a large, spread-out map that requires players to use lighter weapons to move quickly. Halfway through playing a match on Urban, certain doors and windows open to create new sight lines that didn’t previously exist.
Core is an abandoned nuclear facility in the Gobi desert. It has three main lanes featuring permanent drones that players can activate to attack the nearest enemies.
Drift is a resort town in the Rocky Mountains with a working carousel. You take cover behind cute little horses while you rotate to get a 360-degree view of the map. During matches on Drift, an avalanche takes out an entire street.
Sideshow is a nightmarish carnival with clowns. A giant clown in the certain of the map spits out bombs that players may throw at their enemies.
Finally, for weapons, players can use the AE4 directed-energy assault rifle and a new triple-barrel energy shotgun with the new DLC.
