Michael Fassbender and Seth Rogen were in Apple’s home town of Cupertino, California filming for the new Steve Jobs movie, Jobs, last week, and some production stills have now surfaced.

The casting for the movie dragged on for months, and the results don’t look promising. The star, Fassbender, looks nothing like Steve Jobs.

Fassbender is supposed to be portraying the Apple cofounder as he looked in 1984, while Rogen plays his partner, Steve Wozniak. Rogen looks a little bit like the Woz in the 1980s, but a hundred other male Hollywood actors could look as much or more like Jobs than Fassbender.

“Meanwhile, 37-year-old Fassbender looked just like Steve Jobs in a sharp oversized suit and bow tie, his usually-bearded face cleanly shaved for the role with his hair grown out and slicked back,” reports the Daily Mail, which surfaced the stills Monday.

Ha ha — wrong! But thanks for getting those pics.

Now, we all know physical likeness isn’t everything in a biopic. Both Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake nailed their characters in The Social Network, despite having little in common physically with Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Parker. And Fassbender is good. So we’ll put our hopes in his chops.

The movie based on the Walter Isaacson novel of the same name. Danny Boyle directs.
