Today video platform YouTube is launching YouTube Artists, a website featuring videos and promotional tools to help musicians identify and grow their audience.
In a blog post the company writes:
On a new YouTube for Artists site, you have a variety of powerful resources, everything you need to take your latest slow jam or dance track to the next level. Here you’ll find tips on how to best get discovered, lessons on engaging with your fans beyond your music videos, a guide to making money on YouTube, and more.
The new site will give users access to analytics and teach them how to optimize their videos for wider consumption. YouTube is also working on a tool called “Find Your Fans” that will tell musicians where their fans are located so they can plan tours around their following.
The announcement comes alongside YouTube’s launch of cards, which connects viewers to fundraising campaigns and video suggestions. Musicians can use to merchandise and advertise for upcoming shows.
