Microsoft’s search engine stopped working today at around 2:10 p.m. PST. While the Bing.com homepage loads just fine, conducting a search leads to a generic “The page you want isn’t available” error message followed by “We’re working to restore service as soon as possible.”

In other words, the whole site isn’t down, but it might as well be. Bing is broken.

Despite the helpful recommendation on the page, refreshing doesn’t do anything. Some users are seeing a different error message entirely. When they search, the Bing search page doesn’t even load:

Because most Yahoo searches are still powered by Bing, the problems are spilling over to Yahoo’s site as well. As a result, Yahoo is also broken for every other search:

Searched for "testing yahoo" on Yahoo.

Others are reporting that Cortana and Siri functions are also not working. We have contacted Microsoft about this issue and will update you if we hear back.

Update at 2:20 p.m. PST: Bing and Yahoo appear to be working most of the time now. Errors are still showing up sporadically, but a refresh is usually enough to get them both to give you search results back. It looks like this outage lasted about 20 minutes, which isn’t ideal, but it’s certainly not bad either.
