It’s tough controlling what appears online, particularly when it involves one of the year’s most anticipated games.

Star Wars: Battlefront — the multiplayer shooter from Battlefield developer Dice heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in November — entered its closed alpha test on PC today, and players are already sharing footage of it in action.

Publisher Electronic Arts has a strict non-disclosure agreement in place for the alpha, and players posting gameplay footage might find their accounts banned from Origin, its digital game platform. That’s not stopping them from sharing, though.

Within hours of the alpha test starting, a number of Twitch livestreams and YouTube videos have appeared showing Battlefront in action. They’re also going down quite quickly, but others emerge in their place. Previously, we’ve only seen strictly controlled gameplay footage, so it’s pretty interesting for gamers who aren’t part of the testing process to get a good look at Battlefront in its raw form.

Of course, being an alpha test, there are bound to be early problems. But Electronic Arts learned a hard lesson with the disastrous launch of Battlefield 4, and it will want as much feedback from live testing as possible to ensure that Battlefront launches without too many issues.
