Amazon said it will once again be lowering the price of an Amazon Web Service, this time its CloudSearch service.
CloudSearch is a managed service that that can be used by enterprises to set up and operate a search service for websites or applications. Amazon announced in a blog post that it will cut the price “by up to 50 percent across all AWS Regions and search instance types.”
The new pricing is in effect as of November 1, Amazon says. “With this change, the overall cost to run CloudSearch compares very favorably to the cost of setting up, running, and scaling your own search infrastructure,” the company said in the blog post.
Amazon also announced that the managed search service will be adding language support for Hebrew and Japanese, bringing the CloudSearch total to 34 languages.
