MacBook Pros are getting a speed boost for 2017.

Seven months ago Apple redesigned its MacBook Pros and added the Touch Bar secondary display. Reactions to the laptops were mixed.

The new design was thinner and lighter, but the laptops didn’t sport the latest processors. They also didn’t allow for memory (RAM) upgrades beyond 16GB. This rankled professionals who wanted a powerhouse machine and felt neglected. Oh, well.

Now Apple’s MacBook Pros sport the latest Kaby Lake processors and support up to 32GB of memory. It’s an iterative update, sure, but it makes the line a far better investment.

And if you — like yours truly — did not wait for this update, you now have an excuse to sulk. Let us sulk together.
