If you’re a tech company in the Austin, Texas region and are considering launching your product over the next year or so, join us for  a meetup at one of Austin’s most respected venture capital firms, Austin Ventures.

We’ll be inviting up to 10 companies that are contemplating launching products at DEMO (either at the upcoming DEMO event in September 13-15 in Silicon Valley, or DEMO Spring 2011) to pitch on Thursday, May 6 at Austin Ventures’ offices at 300 West 6th Street.

In addition to editing VentureBeat, I’m the Executive Producer of DEMO and am in charge of selecting DEMO companies. So this is a chance to pitch me and other members of the DEMO team. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet with senior partners at Austin Ventures. Each presentation will get at least 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of feedback.

We’ve done this before at Kleiner Perkins, one of the top firms in Silicon Valley, and are also doing it at Madrona, one of Seattle’s most respected firms. It’s great that Austin Ventures has offered its support in doing this for its entrepreneur community.

If you’re a company interested in coming, please fill out this form. If you’re selected as one of the 10, we’ll follow up immediately with more information about the presentation and who will be there, etc.

Not every company will make the cut for the pitch session. But even those who don’t make it may get a consolation prize: an invitation to an intimate cocktail reception at Austin Ventures that will take place at the end of the day, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. There will be drinks and snacks, and we’ll basically just hang out. We’re also inviting some other local investors and top angels to the reception, such as Josh Baer of the Capital Factory and Morgan Flager of Silverton.

After the Austin Ventures reception, we’ll all head over to cocktails at Terrace 59, which will be open to the entire Austin tech scene, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Spread the word, let’s bring the house down! We’ll be buying drinks there for the first 75 people who show up. Please register here for that.

Look forward to seeing you!
