DeCarta, a San Jose, Calif. provider of software for the location-based services industry, has raised $15 million in a “Series C-1” round of funding.
Norwest Venture Partners led the deal, and was joined by existing backers Mobius Venture Capital and Cardinal Venture Capital. DeCarta has raised over $32 million in funding since 2003.
DeCarta says its geospatial software has served Google, Ask.com, Verizon and Sprint. It says its software lets companies “build applications integrating a wide variety of map and data sources to provide complex mapping, routing and spatial search functions. The company’s non-branded software platform and personal navigation software solutions enable its customers in the Internet, mobile, personal navigation and enterprise markets to customize their mapping application to their own desired unique look and feel.”
