Interesting commentary by David Sifry about the impact of blogs on traditional media, including a note about the cost to the Wall Street Journal of its subscriber-only policy. When we checked recently with the WSJ about getting RSS or at least some other notification of when particular stories were published, we were told that our editors should be able to afford an online subscription, and there wouldn’t be any RSS for that particular set of stories for now. We do have a subscription to the WSJ, but still find it hard to find and point to stories, so are reading WSJ less. True, WSJ does have some limited feeds.
