Entone, a San Mateo, Calif. company that provides receiver and gateway technology for delivering Internet television to living room set-top boxes, said it has raised $12 million in new capital.

The move comes after Entone sold part of its technology — its video networking software business — to Harmonic for $45 million late last year.

Menlo Ventures and BA Venture Partners are the investors in Entone’s latest round, reports VentureWire (sub required).

According to that article, the company is already generating revenue, shipping tens of thousands of its products, and has agreements with Consolidated Communications, Hargray Communications and Fairpoint Communications to provide set-top box technology.
