Event management platform Eventbrite is doubling down on helping you manage your social calendar right from your wrist. It’s now available on the Apple Watch and Pebble smartwatch, joining other Android Wear-powered devices. However, there’s a big difference between what you can do with Eventbrite, depending on whether you have a WatchOS or Android-powered smartwatch.

1An advantage that passionate smartwatch wearers say the devices give is the ability to receive notifications without having to pull out a phone and open up an app — it’s right there on the wrist. Eventbrite’s reaching out to those users so you can just pull up tickets and show them at registration right on your watch, perhaps making it more convenient. This is available on both the Apple Watch and also Pebble and Android Wear devices.

However, what’s unique to the Apple Watch is access to Eventbrite Neon, the company’s tool for organizers. With this capability, organizers can monitor ticket sales and find out how many people have checked in — all by looking at their wrist.

Eventbrite’s wearable apps will sync events you’re registered for right to your timeline, notifying you of activities you have coming up.

GIF_Pebble 2“Given the trends we’ve seen in mobile ticketing, and as people actively seek technology to provide them with a more seamless event-going experience, we anticipate consumer demand in the wearables space will continue to grow,” said Eventbrite’s vice president of product Laurent Sellier. “Our integrations with Apple Watch, as well as Android Wear and Pebble, further demonstrate the investment we’re making to develop a meaningful Eventbrite experience for attendees and organizers across multiple mobile devices.”

While it may not seem like a huge advance just to flash the QR code on your wrist to gain access to an event, there is something to be said about the fact that Eventbrite has extended its reach to wearables because it believes this will simplify the registration process. Perhaps waiting in long lines isn’t your thing? Maybe you don’t want to fumble through your phone to find the email with the QR tag or can’t locate the Eventbrite app? Just show your wrist to the person at the door.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You can download the Eventbrite app in both the Apple and Pebble store.
