Career website Glassdoor today released its report on the “Best Jobs for Work-Life Balance.” In the list of the top 25 U.S. jobs, 10 were in tech, more than any other industry.
Glassdoor’s list is ordered by a job score based on a 5-point scale, where 1.0 means very dissatisfied and 5.0 means very satisfied. The firm found work-life balance has decreased in recent years, from 3.5 in 2009, to 3.2 thus far in 2015.
For a job title to be considered, it had to receive at least 75 work-life balance ratings shared by U.S.-based employees over the past year from a minimum of 75 companies. It must also include “work life balance” and/or related terms as a pro in at least 15 percent of reviews submitted to Glassdoor.
Without further ado, here are the U.S. tech jobs that made the cut:
- Data Scientist
- SEO Manager
- UX Designer
- Web Developer
- Software QA Engineer
- Web Designer
- Data Analyst
- Solutions Engineer
- Software Developer
- Front End Developer
The first four tech jobs placed in the top 10 of the full list. Data scientist was No. 1 in tech, and it also placed first overall.
Glassdoor’s report is based on what employees anonymously say about their employer. Job openings per job title (normalized to account for similar titles for the same position) were counted by adding up the total number posted on Glassdoor over the past three months.
