Google said it is rolling out extra storage that you can purchase to use across several Google products.

At first, you can use it with Picasa Web Albums and Gmail. Soon, Google said, you’ll be able to use it with other applications like Google Docs & Spreadsheets. This extra storage will act as overflow across Google services.

Google services continue to have free storage quotas per product (e.g., 1 GB for Picasa Web Albums, 2.8 GB for Gmail). When you reach the limit of your free storage, you’ll start using your extra storage. Plans start at $20/year for 6GB (yes, $5 cheaper than before), with larger plans ranging up to 250GB. More details are coming later.
