It’s impossible to know if this reflects a wider view at Microsoft (I doubt it), but at least one employee at the Redmond software company doesn’t like what he sees coming out of Google these days (or should we say not coming out of Microsoft?). To wit: “(R)ight now Google is kicking our butt.” Google is indeed on a roll again. In fact, most every Internet search company has been innovating this year as if their livelihoods depended on it. And Microsoft, whose executives vowed to make a big play in search, has little to show for its efforts so far beyond a ho-hum search engine and delays. But somehow we’re not quite ready to discount a company whose market cap is $304.33 billion and which has $60.59 billion in the bank.
