bingSo I tried experimenting today. I switched the default search engine in my web browser to Bing to use it for a month straight. I’ve used Bing or I’ve “Bing-ed” before, but I wanted to see what would happen if I made it more of a regular habit.

Lo and behold, it failed. Bing went down for at least a full 30 minutes. Update: It’s now back up.

The team at Microsoft says:we’re aware and looking into it…stay tuned”.

Google’s search engine has never gone down in my memory, although some of its products have had problems on occasion like Gmail. Microsoft can’t afford this if it wants to boost its market share into the double-digit range.
