Remember the highly secretive fuel-cell company, Ion America, backed by Kleiner Perkins, that we wrote about months ago? Well, the lid is finally coming off as the company tries out its power generator at the campus of San Jose company, Cypress. The San Jose Business Journal has the scoop:

The 5-kilowatt power plant — enough electricity to power a residential duplex — is being produced by Ion America Corp., located at Moffett Field.

The Cypress installation will be a demonstration project for investors and potential customers alike to see the feasibility of the product, says Kevin Kassekert, Cypress’ facility manager. Cypress is a minority investor in Ion America.

The article mentions they’re located at Moffett Field, but left it to us out them entirely: They’re in Bldg 1, according to company filings we’ve seen. Tricky, though, because we’re not sure public has access to this part of Moffett. So much for our plans to drive by.
