Yahoo increases the storage capacity for it free e-mail accounts from 250 megs to one gigabyte. They swear this has nothing to do with the fact that Google has been flooding the Net with Gmail invites. From the release: “The global roll-out will begin in late April, which will make Yahoo! Mail the largest e-mail provider to deliver 1GB of storage space for free to consumers worldwide. Yahoo! Mail also announced that it has expanded its powerful suite of security tools with virus cleaning for free, from Norton AntiVirus™, in addition to the virus scanning already offered.”

Also from Yahoo, the company expands its Yahoo Desktop Search product so it can search IM messages and Yahoo address books.

And Idealab’s Snap search engine releases a toolbar that can search multiple search engines, the iTunes library and more.
