Software maker Oracle said that it would buy logistical-software provider G-Log, which Oracle hopes will help propel it past SAP into the number-one position in SCM (supply chain management).
It is Oracle’s tenth acquisition this year.
You may remember, we’d said Oracle was mulling over buying G-Log a bit ago. Our theory that G-Log was waiting for the Germans at SAP to get back from their summer break — to see if they’d make a nicer offer — might have been correct.
If Siebel was the main dessert dish, maybe G-Log is the final cheese plate? Or perhaps Oracle will just keep munching away. Check out what Microsoft’s Bill Gates said of Oracle’s Larry Ellison recently:
If the next three people under you don’t write code but they do deals, what do you get? You get deals. They will probably do more deals than anybody, and we’ll write more code than anybody
When does the indigestion set in?
