Oracle, Silicon Valley’s big database software company, has bought the Emeryville open source database company Sleepycat. And it has gobbled up Swedish VoIP company, HotSIP, underscoring the convergence of telephony and software applications.
But check out the graph below, of Oracle’s stock performance versus its chief competitor SAP over the past five years. Despite its dozen-fold acquisition blitz recently, Oracle hasn’t made any headway.
