Silicon Valley still rules — in job market, at least

Here’s an interesting graphic produced by the job search engine start-up, Indeed. It shows the number of jobs each city has per capita (see below); the larger the circle, the more the number of jobs per person in that city. It shows that San Jose leads the rest of the nation, with 99 job openings per a thousand people.

That’s a lot of jobs. In fact, it suggests we could wipe out entire local unemployment rate — that is, if we were adequately trained. While we have thousands of people here without jobs, they’re just not skilled enough for the jobs available. (Via Fred Wilson’s blog)
