Didi-Kuaidi snags a $1.5B ride to challenge Uber
China’s car hailing service Didi-Kuaidi announced today that it raised $1.5 billion in its latest round to challenge Uber’s presence in the country.
The company says it provides 78 percent of car bookings in the world’s most populated country.
Unnamed sources told Bloomberg Business that the company plans to raise funds that would value the company anywhere from $12 to $15 billion.

Restaurant point-of-sale startup Lavu gets served $15M
Lavu, the Albuquerque-based developer of point-of-sale software for restaurants, announced today through a public filing that it raised $15 million in series A funding. The company said the round was led by Aldrich Capital Partners, and Aldrich partner Mirza Baig will join Lavu’s board.
