Google is acquiring a platform for building mobile and web applications called Divshot and folding it into its cloud services provider, Firebase.
Divshot will shut down operations on December 14, 2015.
“Moving forward the team will be fully focused on making Firebase Hosting a fantastic developer experience,” Divshot engineer Michael Bleigh said in a blog post announcing the acquisition.
The company is providing all existing users with a migration guide for moving over to Firebase hosting. Additionally, Divshot is launching a new Firebase command-line interface today. The interface will allow users to develop locally using Divshot’s open-source Superstatic library.
Prior to the acquisition, Divshot raised a total of $1.8 million in investor funding.
