Kevin Rose is scaling back his time investing as a Google Ventures partner to launch a new startup called North Technologies.

North Technologies will deal with the consumer Internet sector. It’s plan is to launch a new product once per quarter, Rose said in an interview with Re/code. He also said the company is working on two or three ideas right now.

While the description is vague, North Technologies does sound similar to the mobile app incubator Milk that Rose launched prior to coming on as a partner at Google Ventures two years ago.

The reason for launching this new project has to do with Rose wanting to get back into starting new companies rather than just working with them. And based on his past, you can see why he’d miss being an entrepreneur.

Rose is well regarded in the tech community, having initially gained attention as a host on now defunct cable channels Tech TV/G4. He’s also founder of news sharing site Digg and a cofounder of Discovery Channel-owned Revision3 and a handful of other startups/organizations.

We’ve reached out to North Technologies for more details and will update this post with any new information.
