Staying healthy can be an overwhelming project — so many things to be mindful of and track, like your diet, exercise, stress level, and so on.

YOU-app, a new app launching today in partnership with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, wants to help people take control of their health by doing bite-sized tasks. Fifth Corner, the company behind the app, recently raised $550,000.

To work towards a goal, users simply take a picture of each micro-task and share it with their followers and community, who can show support and encouragement through likes and comments. The idea is that focusing on small steps makes goals less overwhelming and more manageable on a daily basis, the company says.

Moneythink, a non-profit helping young people learn to manage their finances, also uses this mechanism to promote good habits. The newly rebranded (formerly called Lift), also takes the small-task approach by giving daily tasks to people as they work towards a goal.

Fifth Corner says it’s working with Oliver’s team on content and the user experience. The app is now available on iOS and will come to Android in the second quarter of 2015.

Wellington Partners led Fifth Coner’s seed round, with additional participation from angel investors from Finland and the U.K.

Helsinki, Finland-based Fifth Corner was founded in 2014 by Nelli Lähteenmäki, Aleksi Hoffman, and Nora Rosendahl as a spin-off from Health Puzzle Ltd.
