Debates are so 19th century. There must be a better way to determine who is a worthy candidate for public office, and it looks like two California politicians have figured it out:
Pokémon Go!
The San Francisco Examiner reports that state Senate candidate Jane Kim threw down the Pokémon Go gauntlet, and rival Scott Weiner accepted (both are Democrats and San Francisco supervisors). Via Twitter, naturally:

That this is happening in a state that elected the Terminator to be its governor makes perfect sense. There are scant details on how or when this battle will take place. And indeed, there isn’t a player-vs-player option in the game, as far as we now.
Still, we hope it goes well. And we look forward to this idea taking its natural course, leading to Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump scampering around Ohio in the fall with smartphones in their hands looking for the little critters.
