The makers of Mega Jump get a boost from Epic Games for its next release.

Get Set Games has revealed its next mobile game, Mega Blast, and Epic Games have awarded the studio an Unreal Dev Grant of $18,000 to support its release. This is the first fully 3D mobile game from the developer, who used Unreal Engine 4 to make it. The Toronto-based studio is best known for its Mega series of games, which includes Mega Run, Monsters, Inc. Run, and Mega Jump, with the latter seeing more than 50 million downloads on Apple’s App Store.

Mega Blast is a 3D “console-quality” platformer that uses swipe controls to send monster hero Redford over obstacles and through blocks. You can see it in action in this video.

Epic Games created a $5 million fund earlier this year to provide financial grants to developers, with no strings attached other than the required use of Unreal Engine 4 for the game’s development. The company awarded $71,000 in grants last month through the program, with total awards nearing $500,000 so far.
