Video games can go a bit too far in their quest for interactivity. Sure, pushing a button to punch someone, shoot a gun, or drop a Tetris piece feels great, but sometimes, developers have us press a specific button for a single, odd action.

Nothing shows this better than the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. As you can see in the screenshot above, one section has the player pushing a button to pay respects to a casket at a funeral. It’s kind of weird, but it’s definitely arbitrary. Why not just have the character automatically do so without the need of a button prompt? It’s not like you really have a choice one way or the other.
