Western arcade route operators aren’t going to be happy with Golden Tee developer Incredible Technologies.
Happy Time Games has announced that it’s taking the long-running arcade golf series and turning it into a mobile game with Golden Tee Mobile.
Why is this bad news for arcade operators? Because the Golden Tee series has been a steady quarter generator for the industry since the late ’90s (including a 2015 update). These last couple of decades haven’t exactly been a boon time for the Western arcade industry, which is in an uphill battle against other entertainment mediums and platforms. So it’s not exactly great news that a popular series moving to mobile devices.

If Golden Tee Mobile is successful, the only thing the arcade version will have going for it is the trackball control.
