Big Fish infographic

Video games are not a waste of time if you’re a programmer who studied at the University of California and you work for Bethesda Game Studios (Skyrim, Fallout). At least according to this data.

Casual-game developer Big Fish put together a giant infographic that lists the best schools for gaming, the highest-paying jobs, and the top U.S. studios. It used verified resources like Develop Online, Game Developer, and Princeton Review to put together this interesting look at the industry.

The results show that most of the biggest studios are on or near the coasts. The same is true with the best game-design schools. When it comes to making the big bucks, programmer leads the pack, but artists, designers, and producers aren’t hurting either. All four of those job titles earn more than $100,000 annually on average after six years of experience.
