Activision Infinity Ward

Recent rumblings suggest that publisher Activision is preparing to reveal the next Call of Duty very soon. Now, a leaked poster is suggesting this game would debut in November.

Call of Duty: GhostsThe promotional material, which you can see on IGN, has the date “11.5.13” sketched across an image that is identical to the Call of Duty: Ghosts box art GamesBeat discovered last week. This news comes a day after Activision began teasing something new on callofduty.com.

Once you shake off your week-long Halloween coma, it should be about time for Call of Duty: Ghosts to hit stores at midnight on Nov. 5.

It’s the time of year when Activision starts talking about the next entry in its first-person shooter franchise. The publisher usually reveals its latest modern-military game during the NBA playoffs, which are in the first round now. Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward is also due for a new game, since the company has released a new Call of Duty every other year since 2005.

Infinty Ward was at one point the premiere Call of Duty studio, but a spat between the developer and Activision led to a law suit and a mass exodus of talent. Over 40 employees left to join startup developer Respawn Entertainment following Modern Warfare 2’s 2009 release. Respawn is working with publisher Electronic Arts on an original first-person shooter.
