Japanese PlayStation Plus members are getting a free taste of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain next month.
Already available as a stand-alone $20 demo, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes offers gamers a sample of what to expect from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Sony has announced that Ground Zeroes is one of the free titles for PlayStation Plus subscribers in Japan during June, reports Siliconera. The full game is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on Sept. 1 this year.
Publisher Konami is no doubt keen to build some positive hype for Metal Gear Solid V, particularly given the negative press surrounding budget cuts and the imminent departure of series creator Hideo Kojima.
PlayStation Plus is Sony’s online subscription service that provides online play for PlayStation 4 and monthly downloadable games across its various hardware platforms. Free titles often vary between regions, but there’s a good chance that Ground Zeroes will also find its way to the North American and European PS Plus services next month.
