Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima announced today that major details about the Nintendo Switch home-and-tablet game console will be shared at a January 12 event called the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017.
Fans have so far only been treated to a three-minute video showing off the Nintendo Switch, which is the successor to the failed Wii U console introduced in 2012. Now Nintendo will fill in more of the blanks, including the launch date and pricing for the Switch, during the January event in Tokyo. Nintendo will also show the line-up of games that are currently in development for the console.
Kimishima also announced that Nintendo Switch sampling events for invited media, partners, and consumers will take place in the U.S. and Europe at later dates after the presentation. There will be opportunities for the public to participate in other hands-on events around the same time, details of which will be announced later, the company said.
The exact time of the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will be revealed through Nintendo’s social media channels in the coming weeks.
