The Legend of Zelda series has entertained console gamers with consistently great gameplay for decades. Its graphics, however, have never been quite up to PC standards — until now (sort of). Zelda Universe user, Ryu-Gi, created these mock screenshots of a non-existent Zelda adventure that most of us would give a million rupees to play [Techeblog via Joystick Division]:

Ryu-Gi utilized Valve’s Gmod to create these beautifully rendered shots of Link and his friends. Perhaps if Nintendo’s hardware catches up with the imagination and skill of their programmers, we could be one day play in a Hyrule that looks this sweet. Look for more pics after the jump.
