LOS ANGELES — Square Enix has worked with developer Tri-Ace on a new Star Ocean game, and now we know it’s coming our way as well.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness will come to the States on the PlayStation 4, Square Enix announced during its Electronic Entertainment Expo event. It debuts this winter in Japan, but it won’t come out in North American until 2016.

“It really is an evolved form of an old-school RPG,” producer Shuichi Kobayashi said during a presentation.

The developer wants to bring back the classic elements that made Star Ocean so much fun in the past, but it also wants to make changes that will increase how much fun it is to play. An example of this is that Square Enix explained it doesn’t want the game to have one huge cutscene after another.
