Amazon’s Twitch division specializes in streaming live gameplay to more than 100 million people over the Internet every month. But it is staging its annual real-world event, TwitchCon 2015 in San Francisco, this fall. The way things are going, this show ought to be bigger than the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) one day.
The social video platform and community will celebrate everything Twitch, and the event is getting a lot of industry support. Sponsors include Intel RealSense Technology, ArenaNet, and Wargaming.net. It shows that the combination of online and real-world communities can be a powerful thing.
“TwitchCon 2015 will harness the energy of thousands of the most passionate, engaged members of the Twitch community,” said Amy Brady, director of global events, Twitch, in a statement. “Even if Twitch is new to you, there are lots of opportunities to learn how to get involved, loads of great games to enjoy and positive people to meet.”
The event will feature the Intel Gaming Lab, a giant LAN area will feature 144 Intel-technology PC gaming stations. It will also have an education zone that teaches people how to broadcast on Twitch. That section includes supporters such as Antlion Audio, Skreens, eSport.US, TwitchAlerts, Teespring, El Gato, GameWisp, Skype, Flood Gaming, HoneyLedger, XSplit, and more.

Making its debut at TwitchCon will be Gameshow, a new brand and product designed specifically for the Twitch community.
TwitchCon 2015 will also have a Charity Zone, sponsored by Tiltify. It will show how to support charities such as American Red Cross, Call of Duty Endowment, Operation Supply Drop, Game Changer, Extra Life, Save the Children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Doctors Without Borders. All of those groups will have a presence.
Other sections will support indies, live broadcasting from TwitchCon, and a playable version of Blizzard’s StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. Numerous game companies such as Capcom, Deep Silver, Daybreak Games, Devolver Digital, Corsair, and Alienware will also show off products at the show.
The event takes place Sept. 25-26 at the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco.
