Another horror celebrity is joining the roster of monsters in Dead by Daylight. Behaviour Interactive is releasing DLC that unlocks Freddy Krueger as a playable character. The new chapter is called A Nightmare on Elm Street, named after the movie franchise that Krueger stars in. Starbreeze Studios publishes Dead by Deadlight, and it’s available now on PC for $7. It will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the future.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical survival horror game for two to five players. One person plays as the killer while the others play as survivors. The Elm Street chapter features Freddy Krueger along with a new map, Badham Preschool, and a new survivor, Quentin Smith. Described as a sleep-deprived young man, Smith has abilities such as pharmacy, which enables him to find emergency medical kits, and vigil, which heals all survivors nearby at a faster rate.

The title launched in June 2016, and within six months, it sold over 1 million copies. Krueger isn’t the only iconic horror villain to show up in the game. Dead by Daylight has released six chapters before Elm Street. The Halloween chapter stars Michael Myers from the Halloween movie series and the Leatherface chapter features the chainsaw-wielding madman from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
