Planet Coaster released its Spooky Pack today. The downloadable content gives players of the PC park-building simulator access to Halloween-themed rides and decorations.

Planet Coaster came out on November 16, 2016. Since then, Frontier Developments has supported its sim with constant updates. Most of them have been free, but the Spooky Pack costs $11. Planet Coaster has about 880,000 owners, according to Steam Spy. It attracted fans hungry for a new park-building game, especially after multiple disappointing entries from the Roller Coaster Tycoon series, which used to be the king of the genre (Frontier itself worked on Roller Coaster Tycoon 3).

This upcoming Halloween is the first for the game since its release. Tying in downloadable content to an upcoming holiday or season is a popular way to keep fans engaged or bring lapsed ones back in. The Spooky Pack adds two new rides. The Hoax is a free-spinning ride that travels along a track inside a haunted house (so, basically, it’s like Disney’s classic Haunted Mansion ride). The Huntsman is the game’s first motion platform ride. It can travel through a park without using a track.

Along with supporting Planet Coaster with new content, Frontier Development is also working on Jurassic World Evolution. It’s another park simulator, but this one will be themed around the popular film franchise and have you building your own dinosaur destinations. It’s coming out Summer 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
