Popular Q&A site Formspring launched an iPhone app this morning so users can read and respond to questions on the go.

The startup is also rolling out a new feature: the ability to share photos in responses.

The site says it’s reached 26 million members globally, and CEO Ade Olonoh told us the site’s demographic is broader than ever.

In VentureBeat’s offices, we asked Olonoh and product chief Tom Wang for the particulars about the new app and photo-sharing feature, which you can hear about in the interview above. We also discussed the site’s userbase, which critics say skews too young, and celebrity use of Formspring.

A company rep tells us that Formspring is working closely with musicians and record labels, in particular, and seeing great success. Odd Future’s Tyler Hadley, for example, has been “an epic Formspringer,” the company said, and has been using the service to keep in touch with his fans.

Also, band We the Kings used Formspring to debut its most recent music video via the “Question of the Day” feature. “The question was, ‘How would you tell your crush you liked them?'” our contact at Formspring told us. “This linked out to their music video and drove … more than 140,000 responses in 24 hours, driving 5.3 million impressions across Formspring for the link to the video.”

Formspring said it is looking for even more ways to partner with and promote bands.

You can check out the new app right now in the App Store; an Android app is coming soon.
