No, Foursquare technically didn’t kill “Lists” in its latest update.
But the feature, a favorite among power users, will relaunch “in a big way,” according to Foursquare chief Dennis Crowley.
The Lists feature, which enabled users to save and categorize their favorite places, is buried a few levels deep into a menu (Profile > Saved > Lists) following Foursquare’s relaunch on Wednesday. Lists was apparently hidden well enough that quite a few users on Twitter believed it had been completely eradicated.
In response to complaints, Crowley wrote that “Lists [are] coming back in a big way in future, just not yet. Sadly, they’ve been a 1% user feature.” In a separate comment, Crowley said Foursquare will bring the feature back “soonish,” “in a new/reinvented way.”
VentureBeat has reached out to Foursquare for additional comment on the matter and will update this story when we hear back.
@roitsch @foursquare Thx for the note. Lists coming back in a big way in future, just not yet. Sadly, they’ve been a 1% user feature :/
