MyNewPlace gets funding for apartment leasing

San Francisco-based MyNewPlace has just raised $8M in a first round of funding, and says it will be launching in Spring.

It will be an Internet listing service for apartment building leasing. Alarm:Clock points to the company’s leader, John Helm, and says it has a good chance to get traction. Backers are led by Trinity Ventures with United Dominion Realty Trust, Essex Property Trust, Marcus & Millichap Venture Partners, ConAm Management, The Lane Company and Cowboy Properties.
