The following Bay Area companies have raised new rounds of capital, according to filings at the SEC as reported by Thomson Financial's PE Wire:
--Extreme DA, of a Palo Alto, Calif. developer of semiconductor design tools, has raised $7.57 million in Series B funding from investors including Foundation Capital and Lanza Tech Ventures.
--iForem (no Web site), a Redwood City, Calif. provider of a service for online storage and financial management of a trust, has raised around $2 million in Series A funding from Gabriel Venture Partners.
--Casabi, a Campbell, Calif. company that Web-enables home phones via broadband, has raised around $10 million in Series B funding from investors including Canaan Partners, Mayfield Fund and Vanguard Ventures.
--Synfora, a Mountain View, Calif. provider of application engine synthesis software used to design systems-on-chips, has raised around $3.5 million of a $9 million Series C round from investors including Wafra Partners, Xilinx, ATA Ventures, Foundation Capital, and U.S. Venture Partners.
--NewCross, a San Mateo, Calif. provider of hosted VoIP for service providers, has raised $3.25 million in Series C funding, from investors including Columbia Ventures and Headway Ventures.
