Provigent, system-on-a-chip for wireless, raises more cash

Provigent, a Santa Clara provider of system-on-a chip for wireless broadband transmission, said it has raised $17 million total in a fourth round of financing.

Stata Venture Partners joined existing backers Sequoia Capital, Pitango Venture Capital, Globespan Capital Partners, Ascend Technology Ventures, Magma Venture Partners, Delta Ventures, and Dr. Andrew Viterbi, co-founder of Qualcomm. The company had already announced raising the fourth round in March, and Stata added money to the round.

It said Ray Stata, co-founder and chairman of Analog Devices, will join its advisory board.
