facebookiphone.pngFacebook has recently announced a mobile web site designed for owners of Apple’s iPhone, at iphone.facebook.com, designed specifically for using the Facebook site while browsing the web using iPhone’s extra-large web interface.

While Palo Alto-based Facebook has had a mobile site up for months at m.facebook.com, this move is sure to endear the site even more to iPhone owners already on Facebook.

The move is predictable considering that “Facebook” and “iPhone” have separately dominated headlines since Facebook’s platform for developers in launched in May and iPhone launched in June.

In fact, it seems the iPhone has already been a hit at Facebook. Blake Ross of recently-acquired Parakey noted jokingly while at his first day of work at the company that all of Facebok’s site data is stored “in a sqlite database that runs on [chief executive] Mark [Zuckerberg's] iPhone.”
