Nominations for Crunchies Awards now open

crunchies2.jpgWe’re pleased to announce that we’re now taking nominations for the inaugural 2007 Crunchies Awards.

Together GigaOm, Read/WriteWeb, TechCrunch and VentureBeat have devised the Crunchies as a way to recognize the year’s most creative business and tech accomplishments of start-ups and the people behind them.

We’ve created twenty award categories.

We want your input. We invite you, the community, to submit your favorite companies and products for consideration.

Read the the official rules and fine print. Nominations will be open through midnight PST Wednesday, December 12. Finalist voting will open Thursday, December 13 and run for approximately one month before the awards ceremony on Friday, January 18 in San Francisco. Make sure to grab a badge to put on your site to encourage readers to nominate you.

The final award winners will be determined based on the popular votes received through website voting. The award winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony to be held Friday, January 18 in San Francisco. Stay tuned for further details.

  • First, I want to thank VentureBeat for helping to put this together. It means a lot to us at http://www.20dc.com and probably to a lot of these other startups. If anyone would like to put in a nomination for us, we would definitely enjoy having on in the "Bootstrapped" category as well as the "Likely to make the world better" category.

    Thanks again VentureBeat Web!
  • It’s a little ahead of my business plan, but after a couple of days and nights of contemplation I decided that entrepreneurship and innovation is all about calculated risk and timing. I’m all in. www.gzyn.com

For folks that simply want to focus on writing good stuff and make some money while at it, GZYN is the place to be. Everything else is taken care of by the system. Take a peek.

    Thanks for putting this together.
  • Finally, a great alternative to the ridiculously low store credit your local video store offers for your used video games.

    Please check http://www.MyZwap.com .

I think you will agree its worthy of a "Best Business Model" Nomination. Myzwap's algorithm allows for fast fair trades.

Please Nominate http://www.MyZwap.com "Best Business Model"
  • Nice option for video game consumers.

    Please nominate www.myzwap.com

    Thanks for the Crunchies!
