Dakim, for exercising aging brains, raises $10.6M

Dakim makes a product called the [m]Power Cognitive Fitness System, a combined hardware/software system for seniors that helps keep their minds in shape, and ward off the effects of old age.

While the system can be used by anyone, it’s also set up to be used by older people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or senile dementia.

A private equity firm called Galen Partners led the round, and is the only institutional investor to have put money into the company. Based in Santa Monica, Calif., Dakim has taken two previous investments.
