Eco-Carbone is a French company that develops carbon credits for sale on international markets by trapping methane emissions from coal mines. Although based in Europe, it works with Chinese mining companies to collect the emissions, which are then used for energy.

The company is also growing Jatropha, a plant native to Central America that produces particularly oily seeds. The plant, although relatively unknown in the US, is being developed on several other continents as a promising feedstock for biodiesel.

The 2.1 million funding (about $3.2 million in US dollars) was provided by a private equity firm called Truffle Capital.

Weather Channel Founder: Sue Al Gore to Expose Global Warming Fraud

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2008/03/04/weather-channel-founder-sue-al-gore-expose-global-warming-fraud

“The founder of The Weather Channel, John Coleman, said global warming is “the greatest scam in history” last November.

He advocated suing those who sell carbon credits, which would force global warming alarmists to give a more honest account of the policies they propose.

“[I] have a feeling this is the opening,” Coleman said. “If the lawyers will take the case – sue the people who sell carbon credits. That includes Al Gore. That lawsuit would get so much publicity, so much media attention. And as the experts went to the [witness] stand to testify, I feel like that could become the vehicle to finally put some light on the fraud of global warming.”

I suggest the Weather Channel folks move to high ground. The polar caps are melting - the flood is coming. Look at people flooded in New Orleans. Listen to people hard hit by more violent hurricanes on the Atlantic coast. Listen to people hit by tornados in February. Watch what El Nino does to our crop rotations and snow melt.

Global Warming is creating Climate Extreemism. The science on this is beyond dispute. I suggest Mr. Thama dig his head out of the sand and use it to fill sand bags. You don’t need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing. So reduce your power consumption; car pool or take the bus; shop for locally-grown foods; vote for solar initiatives. It may cost a little more but it’s cheaper than trying to go live on Mars.
