V.i. Laboratories, a maker of software that prevents piracy and intellectual property theft, received $4 million in a third round of funding from previous investors Core Capital and Ascent Ventures. The Waltham, Mass.-based company plans to use the funds to develop Linux support for its CodeArmor software.
The CodeArmor product detects and reports use of pirated software. It informs developers when their software has been pirated and provides channels through which they might be able to recover any lost revenue resulting from theft.
