Rep. Joe Wilson’s web site under Attack after Obama speech

picture-110If your reaction to Rep. Joe Wilson’s now-famed “You lie!” outburst during Obama’s health care reform speech was to reach for your wallet, you may have had some problems donating to the South Carolina republican congressman last week.

Nonpartisan startup Piryx, which hosted the fundraising campaign for Wilson, has reported attacks by hackers — effectively bringing down the site for over 10 hours on Friday. The Austin-based commerce platform was targeted in a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, preventing Wilson from receiving online campaign donations through this site.

A DDoS attack occurs when a malicious party bombards a site, sending a huge surge in bandwidth making it unavailable for its intended users — in this case, donors.

Piryx has not identified the source of the attack, but it’s not hard to guess their motives. According to Mashable, Wilson’s donations had reached $200,000 before the attack Friday.

    If I were walking in the woods with friends, and I saw a snake crawl onto the path, I would yell "Snake" so that no one would get bit. The same holds true for a liar. I would call him out ASAP so that my friends would not be deceived!

    Joe Wilson is a coward!! He broke all rules of procedure during a presendential speech. Do you think that Democrats did not want to yell at President Bush during many of his speeches that talked of false findings. You just reinforced Americans disgust with the Republican party!!!

    I believe that the "You lie" commen t was a knee-jerk reaction. Perhaps triggered by the President's comment referring to many of us as 'liers' ...He spoke of "all the lies" that are being spread about healthcare. Perhaps some parameters should be set up to preclude all the standing and applause by those who believe everything he says is gospel or truth..

    Joe Wilson, as a member of Congress you should be responsive and discriminating in your evaluation of the public opinion rather than disseminating lies, untruths, prejudices and everything repulsive about American politics. Get a life, get an education, stop thinking like a self-centered, selfish and spiteful petty excuse of a man and learn something about the lives of those you insist on squashing. The British National Health is wonderful and the U.S. needs more of it. Obama is a learned, distinguished man, too bad you are not.

    As a senior citizen and a handicap veteran of this United States of America, it is you J. K. Curran that needs to get a life. The British National Health program doesn't work for everybody and hasn't for many years. Joe has said out loud and to this president, what 86% of the rest of the country has been trying to say since he took office.

    American politics suck and that was proven with the last democrat we had in office and he's still getting a hand out by this administration by hiring his wife to a top level position.

    What this country really needs, is a complete wipe out of all those that are in office now and start with a whole new group of leaders. Using Lawyers and PS majors hasn't done a thing. Put blue collar workers, farmers, owners of the mom&pop business in office for 2 years elect new people for the next 2 years. The President and his cabinet should be made up of retired Veterans and the only lawyers in town would be the Attorney General and staff plus the Supreme Court. That's all the lawyers that they need in DC.

    The delicious irony of Joe Wilson's breach of protocol, i.e. rude, has included him in a trio that consists of , horrors, Serena Williams and Kanye West, both African Americans, a demographic that he and his state despise.

    Sorry, but this has nothing to do with RACE. It has to do with someone telling the American people a lie. Is that not a breach of protocol for the president to tell a lie? I say that would be reason enought to impeach his ass no matter what color he is!

"Let me get this straight, abortion will not be funded in the new health reform bill" Anyone that wants to know, read it yourself, and you'll see that Obama truly is a big LIAR!
